Old Fashioned Holiday Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sticks Butter Unsalted (softened)
  • 1 cup Coconut oil Melted and Cooled
  • 1.5 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Almond Extract
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Cream of Tartar
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 4.5 cups All Purpose Flour

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • In a medium mixing bowl add the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt and whisk to combine, set aside
  • The bowl of a stand mixer ddd butter, oil and sugars and mix to combine, add in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. Add in the extracts and then slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet in 3 additions.
  • Bake 8-10 mins (I always under bake to 8) and remove to wire racks to cool, frost if desired with either royal icing (see link above) or a simple mixture of powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract and food coloring. Decorate with sprinkles if desired and enjoy!
