A few of my girlfriends have been after me for my green smoothie recipe, so this post is for you guys! Yes, it’s really easy to whip up a smoothie, but for years I HATED smoothies because the healthy ones always tasted disgusting. I figured the yummy ones were full of fruit that would add unnecessary calories to my day without giving me the nutrition I was looking to get out of a smoothie.
Enter PBfit, and my whole smoothie world changed and I now LOVE my morning smoothie. The powdered peanut butter has 1/3 the fat and calories of regular peanut butter (which btw I am NOT at all opposed to eating in other ways- and I do!) and makes smoothies so creamy and delicious! I think my main aversion to some other smoothies was all the protein powders, they would oddly thicken the smoothie and it reminded me of drinking some sort of odd fiber drink, no thank you.

I like to add ashwagandha to my morning smoothie because the taste is SO strong, I couldn’t tolerate it in other forms, but I can’t notice it at all in this smoothie. Ashwagandha is an adaptogen touted for helping to relieve stress and anxiety, regulating blood sugar and reducing inflammation in the body among a host of other benefits. Cinnamon not only taste delicious it’s also helpful in balancing blood sugar and I always add chia seeds for extra fiber and omegas.
I like to drink my smoothies most days (because I can drink it on the go) but on weekends I like to “zhuzh it up” with some granola, berries and coconut flakes. Here’s my standard everyday green smoothie recipe:
